Posadas y Pastorelas

The story of Christ’s birth has been told and retold so many times it could have lost its luster generations ago. But it hasn’t—not even close. And the Pastorelas, we do celebrate this tradition here in the U.S.A.
And the “pastorelas”!  There is no Christmas without these pastoral  dramas of the Nativity. Whether in remote  towns or in the big Mexican cities, pastorelas set the stage for the whole of December and leave us, through their playful language and funny situations, the most important message of the season: Good always overcomes Evil.  Read the entire article here

Saint Gabriel Community, and our Charismatic Prayer group "Joshua",  invites all Families from the  area to come and enjoy today's "POSADA" at our Fellowship Hall "Fr. Anthony Bologna. We start with the administration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation at 6:00 PM, Saturday, December 22,  followed by the Posada. Within this family celebration, Saint Gabriel Catholic Youth Council will present a "twisted" PASTORELA, that is in the shape of a parody, where we see what the demons try to do to prevent the little shepherds from going to Bethlehem where, according to the angels' message a new King is born.
On Sunday, December, 23 at 5:00 PM S. Gabriel's Sacred Family presents, the all Family Pastorela.  This is really a master piece, well prepared that includes, media, lights, sounds, and great customs... This also will take place at the Fr. Anthony Bologna Hall... The Pastorela will be followed by the celebration of the Eucharist.

Come and learn from other sources about Posadas and Pastorelas ...

Here you can see some images of Posadas
